Northern Pike Fishing
The lakes and rivers of Labrador are home to an extremely healthy population of Northern Pike. These predators are a great fight in the fly and are incredibly aggressive.

Habitat
Northern Pike prefer the warm grassy weeds beds in the shallows of our lakes. They use this habitat to their advantage when ambushing prey.
Size & Diet
Typically, Northern Pike in Labrador range from around 30-40″ but fish pushing 50″ are not uncommon. Northern Pike are ambush predators, and will eat anything from crayfish to ducklings.
Flies and Equiptment
Northern Pike will eat many flies, from 8-12″ streamers, to mouse patterns and poppers.
As far as fly rods, an 8 wt. and an appropriately sized reel is recommended.
